More at this year’s state fair. Missouri’s 102-year-old State Fairgrounds will be getting $2.2 million in infrastructure improvements. Gov. Jay Nixon announced the upgrades yesterday at the nearly 400-acre fairgrounds in Sedalia. The work will focus on the storm water management system to tackle leaks and improve drainage, partly by repairing and replacing pipes throughout the site. The improvements will also address connections between the fairgrounds and Sedalia’s storm water system. The Missouri State Fair takes place each August, but other events take place there throughout the year.
