A new study from the University of Missouri finds senior citizens might want to think twice before they give up driving. According to the study older people could face negative consequences including the loss of independence as well as social connections and the ability to work. Their emotional well being can also decrease. If the need to stop driving arises, researchers recommend seniors discuss with their spouse and adult children ways to get assistance with transportation needs. Safety concerns should also be considered when determining whether its time to hang up the keys.
