The Missouri Farm Bureau praising the recently passed stimulus package from the Federal Government.

Officials say the COVID 19 package has a large portion dedicated to farmers and their families, especially in the Mid-Missouri region.

The bill, signed into power by President Trump on Friday, allows working families to get a stimulus check that can range from $1,200 up to $3,400 for a family of four.

Additionally, the Farm Bureau points out that the bill also includes $14 billion dollars to replenish USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation and $9.5 billion dollars to address issues in the livestock, dairy and specialty crop industries.

Additionally, it guarantees continuity in the food supply chain by ensuring that enough food inspectors remain working to cover the needs of consumers, while also providing $25 million in funding for USDA’s Distance Learning and Telemedicine Program, $100 million for USDA’s ReConnect program, and $200 million to the Federal Communications Commission for rural broadband deployment.

The Missouri Farm Bureau says they stand ready to assist USDA and others as they begin to implement these programs.
