The annual State Summer Games for Special Olympics Missouri will venture into unchartered territory.
SOMO (soo-moo) president and CEO Susan Stegeman says it’s not viable to push the games back on the calendar. The games, instead, are now moving forward by going “virtual” allowing athletes to compete in the various events from home.
Details of how it’s going to work out will be announced at 6pm, on May 5th, on Facebook Live.
Other changes for Special Olympics Missouri has volleyball and powerlifting moving to September 25-27 as part of the state outdoor games, and a soccer training and invitational now taking place later this fall at the Training for Life Campus.
