Missouri State Parks have opened for the summer, including the 17 designated swimming beaches within Missouri’s state parks. Here in Osage Beach we have one of the states most traveled public parks with two beaches at Lake of the Ozarks State Park, and nearby is Ha Ha Tonka in Camdenton. The Department of Natural Resources samples the water at all designated beaches in the state park system weekly during the recreational season to determine suitability for swimming. The sample test results indicate a snap shot of the water quality taken at the beaches at a specific time not an overall sense of the water quality in the lake where the beach is located. This is determined through multiple testings and taking the mean reading.
