A couple bridges in Morgan County are on the list to be replaced in the near future. MoDOT has awarded a little more than $1.1-million worth of work to replace the Route-BB bridge over Middle Richland Creek, northwest of Versailles, and the Route-PP bridge over Messer Creek, south of Syracuse. E&C Bridge was the low bidder and will do the work. The two bridges will be closed, with detours in place, from May 29th through August 10th.
Motorists who normally use the Route-A bridge over Tavern Creek near St. Anthony, in Miller County, will soon have to find an alternate route. The bridge will be closing, according to MoDOT, so a contractor can replace the deck which includes widening the bridge from the current one lane to two lanes. The roughly $400-thousand contract for the work was awarded to the low bidder…Lehman Construction. The bridge will be closed for about two months while the work is being done. The project is expected to begin in late May and must be finished, according to the contract, by August 10th.
