The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding another in its series of community briefings today about the budget cuts that were recently announced. This afternoon’s meeting takes place from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Camdenton High School. MoDOT plans to eliminate jobs, sell equipment, and close facilities, including the Miller County shed on Route 42 in Osage Beach, the Camden County shed in Montreal, and the Morgan County shed in Stover. None of the road projects in the Lake Area area will be affected. The I-54 Expressway project, the replacement of Soap Creek Bridge and the planned replacement the Hurricane Deck Bridge have already been funded. In addition to today’s meeting in Camdenton, another briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, in Lebanon.
