If you need to head westbound on highway-54 through Osage Beach on Tuesday, you may want to give yourself a little extra time. MoDOT is performing core drilling along a stretch of 54 between Jeffries Road and Passover Road. The work, according to MoDOT area engineer Bob Lynch, is an effort to try and find a solution to some flare-ups of the roadway due to water accumulation in the red clay below the pavement.
The work is scheduled for the daylight hours with one lane of westbound traffic to be closed during the work. Eastbound traffic is not expected to be directly affected by the work.
