MODOT Fined $750,000 By EPA for Osage Beach Project

The Environmental Protection Agency says MODOT violated the Clean Water Act on the Highway 54 project near Osage Beach due to improper storm water control. According to the EPA, violations included failure to construct basins and controls on drainage channels in order to prevent runoff from going into the Lake. MODOT has agreed to pay a $750,000 fine and must also implement increased training regarding proper storm water management. MODOT was also found to be in violation on a construction site on Highway 67 between Coldwater and Silva.
