Although there’s no shortage of work currently being done by, and for, MoDOT, with the transition from winter-to-spring right around the corner, also comes a shift from the focus being on maintenance to construction and repairs. With that transition MoDOT will also be dealing with several contractors making sure the work is done on time. Danny Roeger, construction inspector for MoDOT, says “liquidated damages” can be collected from the contractors if the work is not done on time.
Roeger goes on to say that weather and utility delays are often exceptions to enforcing the liquidated damage stipulation. MoDOT is also currently in the process of putting in multi-passing lanes along Highway-54 from the Camdenton area to the Preston area.
