Most state highways will likely remain snow covered as motorists head to work this morning.
Mo-dot transportation crews have been out in force plowing state roads since the weekend but drifting snow caused by blowing winds, coupled with extremely cold temperatures have made clearing roadways difficult.
Kent Bohan with the Missouri department of transportation says crews are working hard to clear the roadways.
Bohan says the cold weather is making it somewhat difficult to keep the roads clear.
Bohan offers the following tips to motorists traveling the highways today:
*have plenty of gas in the tank
*keep cold weather supplies on hand such as flashlights and additional winter clothing
