The director of the Missouri Department of Transportation will present the agency’s plan for taking care of roads and bridges with a significantly reduced construction budget. Dave Nichols will make a presentation to the Missouri Highways and Transportation commission during a meeting today (Wednesday) at the state capital. MODOT’s financial forecast shows the department’s construction budget will drop to $325 million dollars annually in 2017, which according to officials is less than the $485 million dollars needed each year to maintain the state’s roads and bridges.
