Driving conditions might be complicated on numerous roads and highways throughout the Lake Area.
And just because a given road has been treated with salt, sand or beat juice does not mean driving conditions are safe.
“You always need to practice precaution when driving during events like this, or temperatures like this. You could have precipitation that could freeze very quickly or you could have a re-freeze well after the event has ended.”
Todd Miller with MoDOT says it’s important to keep your gas tank full, keep blankets in your car and only drive if it’s necessary until the weather improves.
“Always try to keep your gas tank full, make sure your tires are aired up and are in good condition. Add blankets and extra water to your car…just make sure you plan out your trip and be safe out there.”
Miller was interviewed by Christian Blood on ‘The Ozarks Today.’
