MoDOT’s planning on asking state lawmakers for some changes next year that could be worth millions. Number one on their list is changing a 2010 law covering repeat DUI offenders. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission says the state needs to clarify provisions on community service and set limited driving privileges in line with federal standards to avoid seeing $16 million/year moved from general uses to highway safety projects. The agency also wants to change current law on reporting medical information on CDL’s. If the state’s not in line with federal law, it could lose $30-million in federal funding.
