As we head into the Labor Day Holiday weekend The Missouri Department of Transportation Officials are advising motorist to be on the lookout for heavily increased traffic on state roadways
Chris Lubbert with Modot says that roadways have changed a lot since the 1950’s when drivers didn’t use to use seatbelts in cars but safety should still be number one in your mind when driving as last year’s Labor Day crashes resulted in 6 fatalities with 4 drivers not wearing a seatbelt as required by law
Lubbert says that MODOT has partnered up with the local and state wide law enforcement to make sure everyone is safe during major travel days from dangerous drivers to drunk drivers
