MoDot’s working on potholes….a lot of them. Through April, as many as 300 crews will be working statewide to get as many craters filled in as possible. So far this year, around 400,000 potholes have been patched. That’s about 2/3 as many as were fixed all of last year. According to MoDot, they filled in around 619,000 potholes during all of 2018. The agency encourages the public to report potholes and says they’ll get to them as quickly as they can. In the meantime, if you can’t avoid a pothole, slow down as much as possible before hitting, avoid braking directly on the hole, hold the steering wheel firmly to keep control of your vehicle, and use caution on puddles that could be hiding a deep surprise.
