More Calls to Rescind Bail Reform Laws

Lawmakers in Missouri continue to demand change on a series of bail reform rules issued by the Supreme Court last year. Jeffrey Clayton is the Executive Director of the American Bail Coalition. He says the problems resulting from the rules were inevitable.

Eighty-two state legislators signed a letter demanding the rules be rescinded. Clayton says they’re not opposed to some reforms, but there needs to be more participation to come up with what works.

The new rules were issued last January and took in effect in July.
