The EPA Region 7 has now issued their official decision regarding Missouri’s water quality standards. Officials have been working on new standards and updating old ones to match the Federal clean water act. John Delashmit with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources says it affects several Missouri waterways
Those standards include protecting the habitats of Missouri’s waterways along with all of the areas designated for protection and those previously unclassified. The federal government requires states to review their standards every three years.
