The State Senate found some more money for schools. The Senate Appropriations committee approved a twenty million dollar increase for two and four year colleges and universities in the state. And, the committee also approved a twenty million dollar increase for public school transportation. That softens a seven percent cut to higher education and restores half of what the House cut from the K through 12 transportation. Once the committee is done tweaking the budget proposal, the measure will head to the full Senate for a vote.
