Two people are facing charges after separate incidents in a known problem area for law enforcement.
Saturday night the Camden County Sheriff’s office says a deputy was dispatched to Shady Gators Bar for an alleged assault. When they arrived a man told the deputy he was assaulted by two people in a dispute over a taxi. The man was allegedly shoved and hit in the face. Michael Howard attempted to flee from law enforcement. Officers used a tazer and took him into custody, charging him with resisting, third degree assault special victim, and fourth degree assault.
The next night at the intersection of Sweet William and Bittersweet, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle when the driver fled away at high rates of speed, nearly ramming a patrol vehicle. After high speed pursuit, the suspect, identified as Jesse James Reynolds, fled authorities on foot. He’s charged with careless and imprudent driving, failure to drive on the right side of the road, and resisting by fleeing creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death.
