Three people are behind bars in Morgan County after two separate incidents last Thursday. In one incident, Nicole Heather of Fortuna was walking with a friend on Highway Z, just west of Fortuna, when a detective stopped to conduct a warrant check on them. During a search of them, the detective found methamphetamine and marijuana. Heather claimed it was all hers and was charged with Posession of a Controlled Substance. That same day, deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call north of Versailles and when they met the vehicle, the driver threw a bag out the window. They found the bag, which contained methamphetamine. They also found more meth inside the vehicle. The driver, Eric Hunter of Gravois Mills, was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute while his passenger, Jamie Scott, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
