It is National Cyber Security Awareness Month with, at least, one Lake Area school district being recognized on the state level for its efforts. Morgan County R2 Superintendent Doctor Joyce Ryerson says the district has come a long way in implementing various safeguards over the past several years. She says they’ve focused on several topics designed to keep their students AND their systems safe.
Doctor Ryerson also says the overall effort has also included educating the staff and parents of the students. Online bullying, self-esteem and other problems stemming from the use of social media were other topics the district addressed when implementing cyber awareness security within the district.
