Morgan County Commissioners are trying to improve communication capabilities for their first responders. They’re entertaining a bid for a project to erect a new radio tower. Command One is the only potential contractor who submitted a bid. The commission wants to discuss the plan with them before moving forward to ensure that it meets their specifications. Currently, there are existing coverage gaps that hinder communications between dispatchers, law enforcement, medical personnel, and firefighters. The commission is hopeful that erecting a new tower will bridge those gaps. The tower is part of a $100,000 earmark for radio communications and would be the fifth in the county under their own jurisdiction.
