A Morgan County farmer is now facing formal charges in connection with dozens of dead and dying cattle found on his property south of Stover earlier this month. Sheriff’s Department Lt. Mike Nienhuis says 70-year-old Edward Coleman of Versailles has been charged with felony animal abuse. 15 dead cattle were found on property Coleman leases, and 20 more malnourished cows and calves were rescued by the Humane Society. Three of them have since died.
