Residents of Morgan County are being asked to renew a sales tax that helps fund law enforcement efforts in the county. First approved in 1997, the sales tax amounts to 1/2 of 1 percent. The revenue generated by the tax is earmarked for law enforcement maintenance and operations costs. In 2016 alone, it generated over $1.25 million. It’s currently set to expire in April of next year. Voters will head to the ballot box to decide on renewal November 7th.
