With just a week to go before the Memorial Day weekend, local law enforcement agencies are gearing up for, what will surely be, another busy holiday in the Lake Area. Morgan County Sheriff Norman Dills says, if you plan on doing any traveling, to be prepared for higher volumes of traffic, higher gasoline prices and, of course, other drivers and any wildlife straying onto the roadways. Among other tips being offered by Sheriff Dills include: putting down your cell phone and make sure to buckle up, be prepared by taking a map or an atlas, don’t drink and drive, and get plenty of rest. The Memorial Day weekend, officially, begins at 6:00pm next Friday, the 25th, and comes to an end at 11:59pm on Monday, the 28th.
