A now bitter dispute over the salary for Louella Pryor, the Morgan County treasurer who claims to be owed nearly 94000 in back pay could end in litigation if an agreement can’t be negotiated with the county commission. Treasurer Pryor said while other county officials were receiving 100 percent of what state statute allowed their pay levels to be set at, which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 45,000, she was the only one who was receiving 74 percent. From 2003 to 2011, Pryor’s salary was set at $33,300. Based on her figures of state laws for public salaries over the 8 years the difference is $93,600. It is said Pryor offered to settle for 4 years or $46,800 in back pay without interest but never received a response from the county commission on the issue.
