The Morgan County R-2 School District is shedding more light on re-opening plans in the wake of COVID 19.

In a letter, school officials say they’re clarifying how the Categories system works when there are certain number of COVID positive cases in the school itself.

The school says for a category 2 plan, there would have to be 29 active cases in one day, 23 active cases over a two-day period or 18 active cases on a three-day period.

For a category 3 plan, there would have to be 59 active cases in one day, 47 cases over a two-day period or 36 active cases over a three-day period.

Category 2 would limit the number of spectators at school events and Category 3 cancels all sporting events and likely means a full school closure if deemed necessary.
