Motor Vehicle Deaths Up Despite The Number Of Drivers On Area Roadways

As the Lake Area moves forward in re-opening the local economy, state officials are saying some people need to slow down when driving.

Sandy Karsten with the Missouri Department of Public Safety says Highway Patrol troopers are seeing a 55-percent increase in drivers going over 26 miles an hour over the speed limit.

Karsten also says that while highway traffic is down from last year, fatal accidents are now up by 6-percent in Missouri from this time last year.
