The Missouri High Patrol’s Water Patrol Division says an Oklahoma man thrown overboard when his fishing boat hit cruiser wakes on Lake of the Ozarks didn’t make it to shore. 53-year old William Ray, 53, of Newcastle, Okla., was pronounced dead a few hours after the accident yesterday morning. Ray was in an 18-foot-long bass boat driven by 39-year old Scott Kimble, 39, of Buhler, Kansas, that hit two cruiser wakes, which caused the boat to tip and throw the two men into the water. Ray and Kimble swam toward a nearby dock. A Lake Ozark fire boat pulled Ray out of the water, but he was pronounced dead at Lake Regional Hospital.
