A case of animal neglect is under investigation in Camden County, where authorities say they recently discovered several animals living in what they described as deplorable conditions. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint about an alleged dog bite and a property dispute on July 19th. When they arrived at the location off Irontown Drive in Roach they found three adults, 23 dogs, and a goat living in a tent surrounded by a fence. The area was full of trash. Deputies returned to the home with animal control and representatives from the Humane Society’s Animal Cruelty Task Force on Tuesday. The owners agreed to surrender 16 of the animals. Lt. Arlyne Page says they hope to be able to nurse the animals back to full health so that they can be adopted.
