A suspect charged with first-degree murder in Miller County will stand trial after waiving his preliminary hearing, Friday, in associate circuit court. Joseph McKenna is being held on no-bond in connection to the June 2018 shooting of Tyler Worthington, from the State of California, in an alleged drug deal that went bad. McKenna had previously bonded out on the charge along with armed criminal action and tampering with a witness until he was picked up on new charges in Arkansas, reportedly, in possession of the gun used to kill Worthington. Since then, McKenna has been held in custody and charged further in Miller County with attempting to escape with the intention of going after a witness. The state is seeking the death penalty against McKenna who is now set to be arraigned on the circuit court level in January. McKenna is also set to appear on the escape charge for a case review in late February.
