Today is National TRiO day in the City of Camdenton. TRiO is the first set of federal programs to address social, economic and cultural barriers to higher education across the country. The numbers, according to a proclamation signed by Mayor John McNabb, show more than 800-thousand students in nearly 3-thousand programs at host institutions make higher education a reality for students who are often the first members of their family to enroll in, and graduate from, college. In addition to it being National TRiO day, students in the Camdenton Upward Bound program are also teaming up with the city parks and recreation department for a day of service to help prepare the baseball fields for the upcoming season.
