Four area fire districts spend the first day of the new year fighting a suspicious fire.
Osage Beach Fire was toned out at 3:20 Sunday morning for a report on Nichols Road in Miller County. When crews arrived flames were showing from the rear of the one story single family dwelling with the residents outside.
Osage Beach called Mid County, Lake Ozark and Brumley to assist due to the house fire, high winds, and an additional natural cover fire. Firefighters were able to save two family pets and damage was kept to $35,000.
The source of the home fire was apparently the natural cover fire, which is under investigation.
