While the holiday weekend in Missouri is proving to be safer on the water this year compared to last, the same apparently will not be able to be said on the roadways. That is, if you judge it by the number of people arrested, allegedly, for drunk or drug-impaired driving. As of around 12-noon on Sunday, the highway patrol reported a statewide total of 206 arrests being made…97 of them, or 47%, for DWI. Last year, for the holiday weekend, there was a total of 100 DWI arrests made by the highway patrol. On the water, over the holiday weekend so far, there have been at least five people arrested for BWI…three here at the Lake of the Ozarks. The numbers do not take into account arrests made by local jurisdictions.
