We told you that a bus line servicing the Bagnell Dam Strip during the summer season has been called a tremendous success and is coming back for next year. That’s not the only transportation need around the lake region, though. Ed Thomas, chair of the Lake of the Ozarks Transportation Council, says that offseason transit is vitally important for year-round residents. Statistics from OATS shows that need is growing. They launched their transit services in 2016 and have seen steady growth in demand since then.
Three quarters of those trips were for people going to or from work. The Tri-County system operates four buses running in Eldon, Versailles, Gravois Mills, Osage Beach, and Lake Ozark. Thomas says you can get information on the routes, pick up locations, and times online at either www.oatstransit.org or www.ccddr.org.
