Laclede County Sheriff David Milsap tell KRMS News that relative then took the baby to Webster County to another relative, which is where the baby was found.

Milsap says both the mother and the father have outstanding warrants, which may have led to the decision not to take the baby to the hospital.

The baby is safe and now in protective custody.
