There are some new developments in the battle over same sex marriage in Missouri. The state Supreme Court has told a St. Louis court it does have the authority to consider the case of a man seeking a divorce in a same sex marriage that was performed in Iowa. The St. Louis court refused to consider the case stating that it didn’t have the jurisdiction to issue a decision on the matter. However, the state supreme court says the St. Louis court does in fact have jurisdiction but the high court does not say whether or how the lower court can act. So the question of whether the court can grant a divorce in a same sex marriage remains unanswered.
