The next step in the involuntary manslaughter trial of a Highway Patrolman charged in the drowning of a 20-year-old from Iowa is now, apparently, up to the Missouri Supreme Court. Anthony Piercy appeared with his attorney, Monday, in Morgan County Circuit Court for a pre-trial hearing in front of Judge Stan Moore. Today’s hearing was to consider April 5, 2017, as the next pre-trial date and May 1, 2017, as a date for what’s expected to be a five-day trial to begin. However, Division-One of the court recused itself meaning another judge to preside over the case will have to be appointed by the Supreme Court. At the current time, there is no date set for when that new judge will be assigned.
