New OPA Boat Race Set For October In Lake Ozark To Be Broadcasted On KRMS

There’s a new boat race coming to Lake of the Ozarks October 2nd and 3rd, and it’s all about speed.

Mark Waddington’s the owner of Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach and also the organizer of ‘Offshore at the Ozarks.’

He tells KRMS News many will watch the races by boat, but there will be other options as well.

Waddington says the timing of the race should be good, after numerous events on the lake were cancelled over the summer due to Coronavirus concerns.

The new ‘Offshore at the Ozarks’ will feature canopy catamarans, some reaching 140 miles an hour on both Friday and Saturday at the Lake.

The race will take place the same weekend as the Big Bash Bash fishing tournament, however organizers have agreed to start the race on Saturday well after the last weight in is completed to avoid any issues between the events.

You can catch the play by play of the races on News/Talk KRMS AM 1150, FM 97.5 & 103.3 with Host Brendan Matthews, along with numerous OPA Officials, on Friday October 2nd from 11am -5pm  and Saturday October 3rd from 3pm-6pm.
