The City of Osage Beach met on Thursday evening for their regular board of aldermen session. Several items were on the agenda, including a presentation by Gary Mitchell about creating a proposed new connecter road through the old Dogwood Hills golf resort from KK to Nichols road, which would help ease traffic going to the new Osage Beach elementary school. Other items included approving a new festival permit procedure for the purpose of temporary outdoor alcohol consumption. The areas approved for this designation include businesses with 1000 ft strip or less of Osage Beach parkway that have a building facing the roadway. Other property will be considered by the Police Chief and city Administrator if requested. Those businesses approved for selling alcohol will have to use an “Event Cup” which will indicate that they’re part of the event and the business will have the ability to close part of the street if needed. Finally the board also approved purchasing real estate for the purpose of storage at the Grand Glaize airport and delayed a motion on a proposed advertising contract with the Tri-County Lodging association for discussion at a later date.
