A new powerboat race is being planned for this coming October at the Lake of the Ozarks.

According to SpeedOnTheWater.com, the modified race, similar to the annual Lake Race, will take place on October 2nd through the 3rd.

Officials with the Offshore Powerboat Association say they had to scaled down the classes due to restrictions from the Highway Patrol in the regatta permit, so only the Super Cat and Super Stock racers will participate.

The event organizer is Performance Boat Center, who sponsor many of the major racing events in the Lake area and have their own powerboat that races in national events every year.

The race will happen the same weekend as the annual Big Bass Bash, which could cause issues with anglers who have to weigh in at places along the planned race course.
