Nearly a quarter of a million dollars will be spent on new signs along the 54 Expressway to better indicate how to reach the businesses on Osage Beach Parkway. The new signs will add the words ‘Business 54.’ Osage Beach Mayor Penny Lyons says the state will foot the bill:
The state will be paying the full cost of changing the signs that currently say ‘Osage Beach Parkway’ to ALSO say ‘Business 54’ — to more clearly indicate to Lake area visitors where the stores and restaurants are. The new signs should be in place by the start of next year’s tourist season:
Merchants along Osage Beach Parkway – especially those west of the Grand Glaize Bridge – have been complaining about declining business since the Expressway opened almost a year ago.
