Veterans in the Lake Area may get a new V.A. clinic following the incidents that occurred over the past few weeks. A new bill winning approval from U.S. Senators is set to create new health facilities and southeast Missouri is included in that list. The measure is looking to authorize the Veteran’s Administration to lease 26 new walk-in health facilities and spend around $500 million dollars to hire new doctors and nurses. The closest V.A. hospital for lake residents is in Columbia which has a higher rating than most V.A. hospitals in the U.S., including the Kansas City and St. Louis locations.
