Newborn Care Bill Defeated By Missouri House

 

The Missouri House has defeated a bill that would have given a panel of medical professionals the task of developing streamlined standards for newborn care.  The House voted yesterday 80 to 72 in opposition to the legislation.  Opponents called the bill a government intrusion into health care that would compromise patient care.  Supporters say the measure would’ve reduced infant mortality.
