Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency on Sunday in response to the widespread and deadly flooding that has been impacting Missouri due to heavy rain. At least 8 fatalities have been reported along with major damage across the state. The Highway Patrol has conducted dozens of water rescues and has assisted in the evacuation of residents from flooded areas. Currently there are 370 roads that are closed across the state.
