Governor Jay Nixon is weighing in on the Ozark National Scenic Riverways issue. The governor has sent a letter to secretary of the interior Sally Jewell regarding the National Park Service’s proposed general management plan for the Scenic Riverways. The Governor says these spring fed Ozark Rivers have been enjoyed for many years by visitors from throughout the United States and adds that he supports efforts to ensure that they will continue to be enjoyed for decades to come. The Governor went on to say the proposed alternative “B” appears to outline the most reasonable approach to accomplishing this goal but the N.P.S. must incorporate flexibility into any plan it implements.
