Governor Jay Nixon today (Friday 26) vetoed Senate Concurrent Resolution 46, saying it thwarted the will of voters by blocking a wage increase for workers who care for elderly and physically disabled Missourians. S-C-R 46 disapproved a rule setting the wage rate for personal care attendants between eight-50 and ten-15 per hour. Missouri voters approved the Quality Home Care Act in November 2008 by a margin of 75-percent to 25-percent.
