There were no reports of any serious problems surrounding Saturday night’s 11th annual Pub Crawl. Organizer Jeff Carroll says that’s becaue of their close cooperation with law enforcement:
A fleet of 22 busses shuttled pubcrawlers between 21 venues, keeping drinking drivers off the roads. An estimated 6,000 revelers took part in this year’s festivities, making the Mardi Gras-themed event not only the largest ever held at the Lake, but likely to be the largest in the world. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest pub crawl had 2,800 participants. Many of the out-of-towners spent the weekend, providing an economic boost during a traditionally slow time of year.
A final count of the number of Pub Crawlers will be available later this week when event organizers tally up the number of wristbands sold for the event.
