Some time has passed since the April elections and several area schools saw the passage of their bond issues to improve the schools and install a Federal Emergency Management Agency approved storm shelter, but one school was left out when it came to that approval. The Warsaw R-9 school district had placed the issue on the ballet for voters to vote on a tax increase which would allow the school to add the FEMA safe room along with a new performing arts auditorium but voters took to the polls and said no. The board of education had a special meeting on Thursday to discuss the option of putting it back on the ballot a 2nd time during the august primary. However, the board decided it would be best to reject the FEMA grant and discontinue attempting to build the project. The vote carried 7 to nothing making it unanimous.
